The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nasarawa State Command, has detained a man in the Kiliga area of Lafia, the state capital, for reportedly raping a 4-year-old child.
The suspect, Musa Jibrin Yahuza, was apprehended after a report from the victim’s mother, according to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Jerry Victor, who was present at the state headquarters of the NSCDC in Lafia on Tuesday, September 7.
“Fatima Ibrahim, the small girl’s mother, spotted a blood mark and discharge on her pant while bathing her. She promptly returned to the room and inquired about it. She told her mother that Azizee had instructed her to lie down on the bed “According to the PPRO.
“Musa Jibrin Yahuza, also known as Azizee, was detained following the victim’s mother filing a report. He has since disputed the allegations, but the victim will be investigated and examined, following which he will be charged in a court of competent jurisdiction, allowing the law to take its course “he stated, Meanwhile, Abbas Bappa Muhammed, the State Commandant, has denounced the heinous act.
He urged parents and guardians to keep a close eye on their children and wards, particularly girls, who require and deserve special attention and he further warned young people to avoid engaging in illicit activity.
He went on to say, “We, the NSCDC, will not desist in our efforts to stop lawlessness and criminality in the state.
