Many people are feared injured following a ghastly auto crash along the Bayelsa axis of the East-West road.
The accident involving two vehicles, a white Toyota Sienna and a Mazda 626 saloon car happend on Monday evening at Sampou junction, a community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Eyewitnesses told Niger Delta Connect that the accident was caused by over speeding by the two commercial vehicles
According to an eyewitness one of vehicles coming from Ughelli in Delta State lost one of its tyres and the driver tried to control it but couldn’t as it ran into the other vehicle from Yenagoa.
“The accident was caused by over speeding. If the small car was not on high speed, he could have controlled the car but he lost control and ran into the other vehicle that was coming from Yenagoa.
“The two cars had passengers inside and the damage was too much. I don’t think any mechanic can fix the cars”.
The victims were said to have been rushed to the Kaiama Referral hospital which was commissioned few days ago by Governor Douye Diri.
