The Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir Allwell Ihunda has enjoined heads of school in the Rivers State capital to make the most of the opportunities offered by the 2 Days Leadership Capacity Building Training Workshop Programme organised by the Port Harcourt City Local Government Education Authority.
The Mayor who was ably represented by the Secretary of Port Harcourt City Local Government, Barr. Chile-Kay Owuru made the remark during his key note address at the opening ceremony of the programme, and also commended the organisers of the workshop.
The mayor made this known in a statement by Bob Abayomi, Chief Press Secretary, Port Harcourt City Local Government and made available to newsmen.
According to him, “no head of school is omniscient; not even the best in the world can carry out its administrative responsibilities without capacity development.
“As a government, I wish to assure you of our resolve to provide every necessary support, as already demonstrated in our commitment and sincerity towards the improvement of education in the Local Government Area”, the Mayor said.

In his address, the Chairman, Rivers State Universal Besic Education Board, Ven. Dr. F. N. Akah admonished heads of teachers to place more importance on quality service delivery than selfish gains and financial benefits, putting into consideration the importance of their role in the building of a better society.
He further expressed his optimism that the workshop will achieve its desired goals.
Recall that Over 200 Port Harcourt Youths had enrolled for entrepreneurship, trade, skills and acquisition development, as the Port Harcourt City Local Government Chairman, Sir Allwell Ihunda (JP) Kick-start the engagement scheme, which will be coming in batches; geared towards training hundreds of youths in Port Harcourt City.
This came two days after the chairman released the list of about 140 SSAs and SAs he appointed.
