A missing On-Air-Personality (OAP) with the Reach 104.9FM, Owerri, Imo State, Sunny Uma reappeared on Wednesday, July 14 after 12 days.
It was gathered that some men suspected to be security operatives picked him up on Friday, July 2 after close of work.
It is not certain what led to his arrest same day the Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA, sealed the radio station on the ground that station failed to show its building plan.
The OCDA also accused the station which belongs to a former governor of the state, Senator Rochas Okorocha of blocking an access road in New Owerri with its fence.
A source said Uma’s arrest might not have been unconnected with a programme he anchored on the demolition of churches in Owerri by the OCDA.
General Manager of OCDA, Innocent Ikpamezie was said to have called at the tail end of the programme to state his agency’s position on the demolition but Uma was reported to have advised him to call the next day owing to time constraint.
Our correspondent gathered that Uma was kept incommunicado till news of his disappearance began gracing the blogosphere and mainstream media.
In fact, a source said it was when the station declared Uma missing that panic spread down the spines of those holding him.
Uma was beaming with smiles on Wednesday, July 14 when he arrived at the corporate office of Reach FM at New Owerri.
He bluntly refused to open up on the ordeal he passed through during the period.
Other members of staff were however in upbeat mood on sighting Uma, who looked morose as if unaware of his environment.
Our source disclosed that Uma will need to see a doctor to examine him and visit his family in Abia State before resumption of work.
“He may also need to change his abode in Owerri for his safety”, the source added.
All efforts to get the comment of Mr. Frank, General Manager of the station proved abortive.
