There has been mixed reactions on social media by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over a press release issued by the Bayelsa State APC caucus of the National Assembly.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Bayelsa State caucus of the National Assembly, in the press release posted on the Facebook pages of the three members of the caucus, expressed grave concern over the parallel administructure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State.
They therefore called on all aggrieved party members to sheathe their swords and embrace peace.
What is causing the uproar on social media is the claim by the caucus that there are no factions in the APC in Bayelsa State.
The caucus members are the lawmaker representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, Preye Influence Oseke, lawmaker representing Nembe Brass Federal Constituency, Israel Sunny-Goli and the senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Degi Eremienyo.
The publication has caused reaction from party members and the general public on social media.
While some members laud the efforts of the caucus for calling for general meeting to resolve the differences within the party, others have a contrary perspective about it.
Those with contrary opinion said the press release is coming rather late as a lot of damage has been done, which is beyond repair and blaming the leadership for neglecting those who have made sacrifices right from the inception of the party in the state.
While some played the advisory role, opining that the leadership of the party should employ mechanisms in handling issues causing dichotomy and alienation amongst members.
Majority of the party members in the state are without guidance in supporting party leaders.
In the same vein, others stated that the leadership should also involve members of the party in wealth creation and job opportunities via placement in political offices as a priority, even as they geared towards the emergence of a new leadership.
