The world that we are today celebrates strength, successes and neglect weaknesses and failures.
While it is important to focus on our strengths and celebrate success, however, neglecting your weaknesses can be the beginning of your doom.
Just as you succeed by building on your strength, do well to identify your weaknesses and work on them. If You neglect your weaknesses, they’ll eventually overshadow your strengths.
The good news is that we can evolve and grow. This means that our weaknesses can be worked on.
These steps will go a long way in helping you to deal with your weaknesses and boost your strength
Dr Nicole Lipkin an author and coach said “If you have a strong right arm and a very weak left arm you will always favour your strong arm to carry something heavy.
Over time, you risk tweaking your back because you’ve been putting so much weight on one side of your body.”
The same logic applies to our personalities when it comes to strengths and weaknesses.
Find Out your weakness
You have to know what your weaknesses are. The best resource to discover where you need improvement is people who know you well. These people are your family members, friends, colleagues. You can ask these to identify your weaknesses and strength. If so many persons are saying the same thing, then it means the identified traits are your strengths and weaknesses. Since your strength is already active, channel your energy into building and developing your weaknesses positively.
Admit your weaknesses
Never hide your weaknesses. When so many persons are seeing a particular fault in you, see it as something to work on rather than being defensive. Admit your fault and be willing to change.
You say “show me the path out of weakness”, I say, “weakness is the path, walk on it daringly and it’ll turn into strength”; Abhijit Naskar.
Your weaknesses can be converted to strengths.
For instance, I am not a good time manager, while working on it, I ensure to have a ‘ to-do list ‘ which helps me to keep track of time.
If you avoid making mistakes in life and struggling to do everything right, and are obsessed with perfection and order, then living and experiencing a successful and happy life is going to be impossible.
A wellness expert said “Embrace your failure, whether it is one failure or many failures, because, with the right attitude and a willingness to learn from your mistakes, you are guaranteed a lifetime of success. ”
Get someone compatible
Most times, one of the ways to build on your weakness is to get someone compatible with you. Look around you, there’s that person whose strength can build your weakness. They are either your colleagues, a friend. These can end up becoming your business partners or significant other, a buddy you can count on anytime. Always remember, your weakness is somebody else’s strength
