With the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board have started the process of developing an oil and gas industrial park in Ondo State.
According to a statement acquired on Wednesday, board representatives visited the Ilaje site with officials from the Ondo State Government to inspect the situation. The NCDMB launched the NOGaPS initiative to establish low-cost manufacturing centres that would produce oil and gas equipment and replacement parts.
Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State, praised the board’s efforts and thanked it for including the state in its development plan. The governor has pledged his entire support for the project’s prompt completion in the state.
“Two of the industrial parks in Emeyal 1, Bayelsa State, and Odukpani, Cross Rivers State, are nearing completion and are expected to be operational by the end of 2022,” according to the release.
The NCDMB is also working on oil and gas park projects in Oguta, Imo State, Ikwe, Onna Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, and Delta State, all of which are at various stages of development.
Recall that, The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and Dangote Oil Refinery have cooperated to enhance research and development in the country’s oil and gas sector.
Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary of the Board, paid a visit to the Dangote Oil Refinery exhibition stand at the NCDMB Research & Development fair and conference 2021 and praised the company for expressing support for the board by participating in the fair.
In collaboration with NCDMB, Dangote Oil Refinery has already picked six graduates from across the six geopolitical zones to pursue MSc and/or PhD programs in Zeolites ZM5 at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The conference, titled ‘Creating sustainable collaboration in research and development for the energy sector, brought together researchers, industry participants, investors, finance firms, and manufacturing firms to uncover patentable or commercially viable items as a result of R&D operations.
