Over 117 officers of the National Correction Service (NCS), Abia State Command, have been elevated into various ranks.
This is coming in line with the Nigeria Correctional Service Comptroller-General’s blueprint to reward hardworking officers and instill discipline in service.
Addressing the promoted officers in Umuahia, the State Commandant of NCS, Ugbu Uche Kalu, challenged the new promoted officers to redouble effort in the discharge of their duty, as their promotion is also saddled with responsibilities.
Kalu stated that their elevation is simply a call for more service, therefore, they should not relent in carrying out their duties diligently.
He urged other personnel who could not make the list of decorated officers to exercise patience as more fruitful days lie ahead of them.
In their goodwill messages, the Corp Commandant of the Nigeria Immigration Service, O. S Offiong, Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corp, Paul Ugwu, and the Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Janet Agbede represented by DCP Ahmed Musa, took turns to encourage the newly decorated officers to remain committed and loyal to their superior, as discipline poses as the ladder to a greater height.
According to them, the officers should at all times prioritize their job, bring up initiatives that could move the NCS forward in the state as well, maintain any good conduct that earned them the promotion.
Interacting with a cross section of Journalists, one of the newly decorated officers from the rank of Superintendent of Nigeria Correctional Service to the Chief Superintendent of NCS, Linus Ikpe, thanked God for the opportunity to serve in the new rank.
He enjoined fellow officers to exhibit a high level of commitment as well as, shun any act that could endanger their job.
