The new Commissioner for Housing in Abia State, Elder Chinagorom Nwankpa, has shown appreciation to Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, for finding him worthy to supervise the affairs of the Housing Ministry.
Elder Nwankpa who stated when he made a familiarization visit to the Ministry for Housing, shortly after he was sworn in, thanked the governor of the state, promising not to defeat the confidence reposed on him.
The commissioner who was accompanied by his Wife, Kate Nwankpa, alongside his family members and friends, pledged to work harmoniously with the management and staff of the ministry to achieve the task of improving the Housing sector in the state, which is one of the cardinal aims of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration.
He reiterated his desire to work with them as members of one family, seeking the cooperation of the Staff and Management.
In his reaction, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Housing, Mr Thompson Ikoro, assured the new commissioner of the support and cooperation of the staff and management team, ensuring that the new commissioner succeeds.
In a vote of thanks, the Director of Administration, Sir Emma Nwachukwu, thanked the commissioner for the rare visit.
The Directors in the Housing Ministry were present to receive the Commissioner.
Similarly, Professor Ikechi Mgbeoji has been returned to the Abia State Ministry of Agriculture to finish some of the credible programmes he started two years ago.
His words, ”Let me finish the programmes that I have started, there is no point starting something afresh when there are some credible programmes that we started two years ago that we are yet to complete.
“We have to finish up these ones we have started first before starting new ones.“
Interacting with Newsmen at the Ministry of Agriculture shortly after his inauguration, Mgbeoji urged Abians to be hopeful that things will get better even as he acknowledged that these are really tough times but expressed optimism that this kind of times will not last forever.
He pointed out that Agriculture remains one of the best ways out of these difficult times, while urging Abians to embrace Agriculture.
He expressed appreciation to the Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu for the opportunity to contribute to the development of Abia State especially in the area of Agriculture.
