The Nigeria’s national under-17 male football team, beat Bayern Munich Academy 5-1 in a friendly match at the River plate football ground in Abuja on Thursday, February 25.
The friendly game was part of the Golden Eaglets’ preparation for the 2021 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for Morocco in March.
The event is slated for March 13 to March 31, 2021 and the Eaglets are in Group B with Tanzania, Algeria and Congo.
The Eaglets, who have been in camp since last month, outclassed their opponents with a scintillating performance in the friendly game.
The game started in a modest note as both teams were unable to convert their goal-scoring chances.
After halftime, the Eaglets played in a more ruthless fashion in the second half as they played with better coordination.
Victor Udoh opened the scoring for coach Amoo’s boys in the 46th minute, but Chinasa Maduabuchi drew the game level for Bayern Munich Academy in the 67th minute.
Ahmed Abdullahi’s beautiful header flew into the net two minutes later and he went on to score from the penalty spot in the 75th minute to get his second of the game.
Goals from Peter Asuquo who scored from the spot kick and Gideon Atoyebi who hit the roof of the net in added time were enough to complete the demolition of the academy side.
