The Zone 16 Command of the Nigerian Police Force, will next week commence the second phase of registration and capturing of retired police officers for its specialized health scheme.
The scheme which is tailored to give the ex-officers access to quality health services, is part of their post service benefits.
In a statement on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer Zone 16 Headquarters, comprising Rivers and Bayelsa States, Mrs. Ikwo Kevin Lafieghe said the scheme is for police officers in the two states, and the capturing will take place from Monday 15 to Thursday March 18, 2021.
She explained that the health scheme is an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar to provide the retired officers and their spouses with quality and sustainable healthcare services irrespective of their rank as at the time of retirement.
She further explained that the scheme is covered by the Police Health Maintenance organization HMO Code 073 and it is absolutely free without any form of deduction from the retirees’ pension.
Mrs Lafieghe enjoined all affected officers to visit the closest Police Area Command in their state of residence for enrolment alongside their letter of retirement and retirees’ ID Card for identification.
