Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has come under sharp criticism for joining the All Progressive Congress (APC) after years of consistently attacking the party and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fani-Kayode was received on Thursday by President Buhari at the State House, Abuja after he was presented by the Governor of Yobe State and chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the APC, Mai Mala Buni.
The former Minister claimed in an interview with journalists that his decision was inspired by God and the positive changes he has noticed in the ruling party.
“I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings, but I’ve made a choice, I believe I’ve been led by the Spirit of God and I will fight for what I believe is right within this party as I would anyway. I will never give up on my core values and principles”, he said.
However, most Nigerians described his decision to join the APC as shameful and a huge embarrassment to his personality after he had vowed never to join the party.

Some described him as a confused man who is trying to revive his dying political career while others say the former minister may have been broke and looking for how to get into government to make money.
Taking to social media, they lament that the political ideology of most politicians are very faulty, stating that they are only interested in personal gains and not the collective interest of the people.
Mike Daniels said, “Men like FFK are shameless. They can betray even Jesus for brown envelope. He is of the same lineage with Judas Iscariot, they can do anything for the money.”
Toby Elijah said: “Now that he has shamelessly joined the APC, I’m very sure he will double the shamlessness and attack the PDP. It’s someone like him that say that ‘PDP put us in this mess we’re in today. That they ruled us for 16 years and destroyed everything.”
Meanwhile several tweets and interviews made by Fani-Kayode, vowing never to join the APC has surfaced online with Nigerians using that to also mock him.
In one of the videos, he said he will rather die than join the APC, insisting that he will remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until eternity.
