The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has declared that no amount of intimidation will make him drop his presidential ambition, come 2023.

He emphasized that he is ready to “get dirty” in the struggle to emerge the next president of Nigeria and that no other contender can coerce him out of the race.

Tinubu stated this yesterday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, during separate consultations with the Olubadan-designate, Oba Lekan Balogun and Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, noting that he cannot embark on a project of such magnitude without seeking for the cooperation and , blessings of the royal fathers.

He explained that he came to inform the royal fathers of his decision to run for the position of the president of the country in the forthcoming 2023 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and to seek their cooperation and prayers.

In his response at his palace, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo, showered royal blessings on Asiwaju Tinubu, adding that all the ancestors of Yorubaland would work in his favour. He further noted that by the special grace of God in Yorubaland, unlike before, they have a Vice President, Ministers of Works, Interior and Sports, but they still need more.

Also at the palace of Oba Lekan Balogun, Olubadan of Ibadan, the Oba remarked that they all know Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his antecedents as a progressive, noting that Tinubu laid the foundation of ‘Today’s Lagos’ and a leading light of Nigeria.

He stated that without Yoruba, Nigeria will not be what it is today and that Tinubu contributed to make Nigeria what it is today.

He said Nigeria is badly divided and we are looking forward to a Yoruba president, who will unite the country.
