The Prelate of Methodist Church, His Eminence, Samuel Chukwuemeka Uche, has disclosed that no region or group should be allowed to monopolize power in Nigeria.
Interacting with Journalists in Umuahia, the Prelate said political activities in the nation should reflect geographical character, as what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.
The Prelate said presently Nigeria operate a system that favours the Fulanis alone.
“The government we have now is government for the Fulani and for the Fulani.”
The cleric pointed that when the president came on board he said he was for nobody, but for everybody, adding that the president has not reflected for once this statement in his administration.
According to the Methodist prelate, everything in Nigeria, pronounces instability, impunity and pain.
“People are not happy in Nigeria. I am not happy too. We are in a democratic system of government. We should not militarize governance.
“Come 2023, whoever that can bring sanity and peace to Nigeria should be allowed to be president”, he said.
The Cleric further stated that the way Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho were arrested was condemnable and uncivil.
Speaking on who would succeed him as the next prelate of the church, the Prelate said he has no candidate that will succeed him, stressing that anybody that is detribalised, Godly and have the interest of the whole country at heart, should become the next prelate of Methodist Church.
In his sermon during the official opening ceremony of the National conference of the Women Fellowship of Methodist Church in Umuahia, the Prelate said that women are the ones that will rescue Nigeria from its difficulties.
According to him, the first and second world war came to an end through the prayers of women.
The Prelate, however, commended the women for their input in the church, describing them as the most vibrant group in Methodist Church Nigeria
