Doris Chima, a Nollywood actress, has died after battling cancer.
Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Lagos chapter, Emeka Rising Ibe confirmed the news of her death.
“She called me last week and pleaded due to ill health not to remove her from the verification exercise I embarked on to ascertain true members of the guild in Lagos”.
“Yesterday morning, I got a call that she was dead. Though I am yet to visit the family, it is a great loss for us. I pray for the repose of her soul”, he said.
Before her death, Chima was a foundation member of AGN and former vice-chairperson of Lagos AGN.
In related news, Kunle Agboola, a Nollywood producer and record label executive, has also been announced dead by the family.
According to Lanre Agboola, Kunle died at the intensive care unit of the NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
He was 53 years old.
Lanre was the producer of the popular Yoruba programme, Idan Irawo.
He produced and mastered songs for music giants including Daddy Showkey, Tope Alabi, Sunny Neji, among others.
It was gathered that Kunle long battled with kidney disease before his death.
The producer was the Sound Engineer and Media Officer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), ICB Parish in Brooklyn.
He is survived by aged parents, wife, children and siblings.
