The entertainment industry in Nigeria is currently going through trying times as the death of Nollywood actor, dancer and production manager, Abiodun Aleje was announced on Friday, May, 21.
The unfortunate incident is coming less than a month after the demise of Nollywood veteran actor, Bruno Iwuoha as well as Comedian, Ada Jesus.
Mrs Folake Aremu (Orisabunmi), Jim Lawson Madueke, David Mela, Don Nkoloagu and Ernest Asuzu are Nollywood actors who died in January, 2021.
Aleje, it was gathered, had been battling with an undisclosed ailment and had been on admission at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
The actor was rushed to LASUTH after he slumped at home a few weeks ago and had been receiving treatment there until he gave up the ghost yesterday.
Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANATAP), Lagos State chapter, Makinde Adeniran, confirmed this, after the late actors’ wife broke the news to him.
The versatile Abiodun Aleje is known for his many diverse roles in the industry. Arguably his most famous role was in Kunle Afolayan’s monster hit, “October 1”.
