Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says it is set to launch a Zonal Rapid Response Squad to curtail the rate of criminality in Ondo State.
The Assistant Commandant General in charge of NSCDC (Zone J Command), Commander General Ayinla Adeyinka made disclosure during his routine tour to the Ondo State Command which is under his jurisdiction including Osun and Ekiti states, saying that the team have gone through requisite, thorough and rigorous trainings and will soon be deployed to combat crimes across the three states.
Adeyinka stressed the need for an improved, credible and proactive Intelligence gathering in order to achieve rapid response from the Corps.
According to him, “The Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar’s action plan is poised to rejig, revamp, rejuvenate and reposition the Corps to an enviable position both at the National and International status. And the only way to support his move is to strengthen the Intelligence base of the Corps.”
While addressing the Senior Staff Officers and other ranks in the state command, the Zonal Commander lauded the Commandant General for his magnanimity and unprejudiced gesture by considering a good number of personnel in the South West for promotions after many years of waiting.
He further commended the level of transparency in the promotion examinations conducted since his assumption of duty.
Adeyinka further solicited the support of the government and the critical stakeholders to collaborate with the NSCDC, saying the issue of insecurity has now become a collective responsibility.
