The management of the National Youth Service Corps, Imo State has come out to offer explanations about the pictures of purported dilapidated structures in it’s Imo State Orientation Camp, which have gone viral.
In its reaction, the NYSC, Imo State said the attention of its management has been drawn to pictures of dilapidated buildings in its Imo State Orientation Camp, making the rounds in the social media space.
According to the NYSC, the scheme wishes to note that the location of the NYSC camp in Imo State is not in Mbano as worngly published in the post, but in Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.
Continuing, the NYSC said the depiction of a diapidated building as NYSC camp must have been a case of mistaken identity.
“Ehime Mbano parades a beautiful Corps Members lodge, as well as office complex graciously donated to the Corps by the chairman of Ehime Mbano local council”, NYSC Update reported the Scheme to have said.
The NYSC management said the diapidated building in the post in question is a disused lodge which has long been abandoned by the Scheme.
The NYSC therefore advised members of the public to kindly disregard the information in its entirety as the pictures contained in the viral post are not in the NYSC Camp.
They also advised journalists to endeavour to always verify issues with the P.R. Department of the NYSC before publishing in order to guard against the spread of wrong information.
