A member of the Board of Bayelsa United F.C., Amb Miebi Ogunu has congratulated Coach Domo Okara on his appointment as the acting Technical Adviser of Bayelsa Queens F.C. of Yenagoa.
Ogunu also commended the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri for approving the appointment of Okara, who is seen as one of the brightest technical hands in the state, to oversee the technical affairs of Bayelsa Queens, who are the current champions of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL),
Ogunu, who noted that his joy over the appointment knows no bounds, prayed God to imbue the newly appointed acting Technical Adviser, Okara, with the knowledge, technical depth and wisdom to guide the girls to achieve more victories both at the national and continental levels.
According to Ogunu, who is the President of the Yenagoa-based Independent Grassroot Sports Development Association (IGSDA), “I wholeheartedly congratulate Coach Domo Okara on his appointment as the acting Technical Adviser of the high-flying Bayelsa Queens F.C. of Yenagoa.
“I equally commend our Miracle governor and Games Master General of the state, Senator Douye Diri for approving the appointment of Coach Domo Okara. I wish to express appreciation to the chairman of the Management Board of Bayelsa Queens, Pastor Robin Apreala, for supporting Okara’s appointment”.
Okara’s elevation follows the resignation of erstwhile Technical Adviser, Moses Aduku, who has pitched tent with Edo Queens F.C. of Benin.
This is not the first time Okara would be stepping in the shoes of the Technical Adviser. The US-trained coach was in charge of the team when the former Technical Adviser, Aduku was away on national duties with the national U-20 women team, the Falconets.
It was Okara, who led Bayelsa Queens to victory at the maiden edition of the Betsy Obaseki pre-season Tournament in Benin, Edo State. Okara also qualified Bayelsa Queens for the NWFL Super Six before Aduku returned from national assignment to take over control of the team.
Until his new appointment, Domo Okara was an assistant coach with the team.
Since the announcement of the new appointment, Okara has been receiving tons of congratulatory messages from associates, colleagues, friends and other stakeholders in the Bayelsa football firmament.
