Ondo State Football Association has charged clubs willing to participate in 2022 Aiteo Cup to register within the stipulated time, as directed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to ensure proper documentation and collation.
This was contained in a statement made available to Niger Delta Connect on Friday in Akure by the Media Officer of the Association, Segun Giwa.
It would be recalled that NFF had in a letter dated April 26 notified all state associations of the timeline of the competition.
The club registration at the state level would hold between May 1st and May 13th, while submission of licences would be on May 14.
The competition proper would hold between May 15 and June 15 to determine the two teams, while names of the two clubs represent the states must be submitted on May 15.

“I want to urge clubs to register on time and for us to know the number of interested clubs and to allow us also to plan adequately well, you may be thinking that there is time, but we need to plan too”, the FA Secretary, Ibukun Adetoyinbo said.
In the same vein, Sunshine Stars Coach, Emmanuel Deutsch has commended his players for their second half display against relegated threatening Kano Pillars in the match day 25 of the Nigeria Professional Football League contest at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Deutsch said: “They played against a team down the table, they are wounded lions and they wanted to come out of their situation by all means. They played well and we lost by 1-0. My boys showed good character in the second half after losing concentration in the first half.
“We gained control of the game after the changes but we could not equalise due to lack of experience in our attack. Now we go back home to prepare for the derby at home (versus Shooting Stars). The points is ours”.
Meanwhile a spirited second half display wasn’t enough to prevent Sunshine Stars FC from slipping to Kano Pillars in a closely fought encounter.
The rescheduled game began on a rather sloppy pace for the boys who had to cope with early pressure from the hosts, with Mustapha Lawal called into action as early as the second minute.
The hosts capitalized on the Sunshines’ sloppiness and took the lead through Jerry Alex’ finish from a square play inside the opening 20 minutes.
