The wife of the Prelate of Methodist Church, Nneoma Florence Uche, has disclosed that women should be given the opportunity to become president come 2023, as only women can restore peace to Nigeria.
In an interview with newsmen in Umuahia, the Prelate’s wife said women should be allowed to lead, since they can pray to God and get answers immediately.
Nneoma Uche said if she can lead over one million Methodist Church women as the National President of Women’s fellowship smoothly without any form of chaos then, the same could still be replicated if given the opportunity to lead Nigeria.
In her welcome address at the 88th Annual and 44th Biennial National Women Fellowship Conference held at the Wesley Methodist Church, Umuahia, the Prelate’s wife said the conference is geared towards prayers for families, the church, community and Nigeria as a whole, for God to restore peace and normalcy in Nigeria, believing that God will end the incidence of insecurity which is prevalent at the moment.
Nneoma Uche who led the women at the National Conference, campaigned against corruption, rape, same sex marriage, as well as insurgency that has ravaged the country.
The women who were dressed on black T-shirt and wrapper, carried placards reading; “Stop Rape In Nigeria”, “It is a Crime Against Humanity”, “Say No To Terrorism, Corruption and Same Sex Marriage”, “Say Yes to Peace in Nigeria and No to Violence”.
In his speech, the Prelate of Methodist Church, His Eminence, Samuel Chukwuemeka Uche in his sermon, encouraged the women to take advantage of the conference to make positive input in the development of the church and nation at large.
According to the Prelate, the conference theme, “Watch and Pray”, was apt especially at a time Nigeria is faced with atrocities.
He advised the women to watch and pray so that God can turn around the killings, kidnapping and insurgency going on in Nigeria.
