The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that it will hold its zonal congresses across the three geo-political zones on Saturday, April 10, 2021.

PDP reveals date to hold zonal congresses
Uche Secondus

The three geopolitical zones slated to have their congresses on the said date are the South West, North West and North Central.

The party relayed this to newsmen in a letter signed by the National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus and Secretary, Senator Umar Tsauri.

The letter, which was addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), conveyed the plans of the party as regards the congresses, saying that the congress scheduled for the south west will hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, while those of the North West and North Central will hold in Kaduna and Markurdi respectively.

The letter read in part:

Please refer to our earlier letter with ref. No. PDP/DOM/GF. 2/VOL. IM/21-015, in which we informed the Commission (INEC) of the postponement of our planned zonal congresses in North West,  South West and North Central.

We now wish to inform the commission of new dates for the North-West, South-west and North-central zones.

Please note that all our party’s activities shall be in accordance with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines on COVID-19 as they concern social/physical distancing if people are gathering in one place,

It will be recalled that the PDP has earlier held its congresses in some other geo-political zones early last month where it elected zonal leaders for the south-south geopolitical zones and some others.
