The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has taken a swipe at the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, over the postponement of its national elective convention. The Congress which was originally billed to hold on the 26th of February has been moved to Monday the 26th of March, a development the PDP attributed to confusion in the party.
A spokesman of the party, Debo Ologunagba, described APC as a gathering of strange bedfellows with little or nothing to avail the nation in terms of good governance.
He attributed the inability of the APC, a party in government’s inability to conduct a routine national convention to further explain why all sectors of our national life have been in the shambolic state under the incompetent, corrupt, rudderless and overtly confused APC administration. He described the postponement of its national convention as a Special Purpose Vehicle, SPV, of strange bedfellows, “political Buccaneers” and ferocious power mongers on a mission to wreck Nigeria.
The PDP stated that the APC which cannot conduct its internal affairs should not be expected to successfully manage the affairs of a nation like Nigeria. It described APC as a perfect example of failure at both party and governmental levels likening it to a Russian Roulette with an unending quest for a time extension to undertake a routine statutory political activity.

The PDP justified its stance by saying that it was not surprising that APC, which is a party of backstabbers once again postponed its national convention.
It opined that the postponement was a fallout of the infighting, backbiting and gang war by political bandits who are desperate for power and access to our national treasury. It said the APC was not capable of holding a national convention haven become defunct since December 8, 2020, when it dissolved all its states, zonal and national party structures, replacing them with illegal contrivance called the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee led by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.
The PDP warned those aspiring for various positions under the APC in the 2023 elections that they are on a journey to nowhere with the failure of the party to hold a national convention. The statement advised the APC to re-apply to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for fresh registration as a political party as its only legitimate way of participating in the 2023 general elections.
The PDP maintains that it remains the only hope for a better future for the country as it is back and repositioned to rescue and rebuild Nigeria from the stranglehold of the APC in 2023.
