A former Governor of Anambra State and a Presidential Aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi, has revealed how he will tackle corruption in the country, if elected president of Nigeria.
Mr Obi argued that fighting corruption is easy because if you the principal is not stealing, your wife and family are not stealing, you will reduce corruption by about 70 per cent, adding that he will introduce the approach he used to fight corruption when he was the governor of Anambra state.
He charged the party’s delegates to its forthcoming national convention to make the interest of Nigerians paramount in deciding who to elect as the party’s flagbearer. He further canvassed for unity amongst the PDP family in the face of what he described as the “task ahead”.
He further emphasized that the integrity of any aspirant should be the major consideration in deciding on a candidate to vote for, noting that it was because of his integrity that he left over N75 billion in the treasury of Anambra State, when he left as governor.
Speaking during a meeting with stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, he charged the electorate to vote for a candidate that has the competence and capacity to make Nigeria a country that we will all be proud of.

According to him, Nigeria is currently going through a difficult time and many people, especially the youths, are jobless, therefore, we need to have a productive society and start creating jobs for these persons in their productive age.
He also identified the rising spate of insecurity as a major challenge to the development of the country, noting that this troubling development can be brought under control, if the youths were gainfully employed and the security agencies in the country are adequately mobilized to do their work.
