The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a 200-level student of the Niger Delta University (NDU), in Amassoma, James Ogumakpeye.
James, who was a student of the Department of Marketing in the Faculty of Management Science, was shot at close range by suspected cultists.
Nigerdeltaconnect had reported earlier on Wednesday, April 14, that a 200-level student of Marketing at the NDU was shot at close range.
Spokesman of the State Police Command, Asinim Butswat told our correspondent that one personon has been arrested in connection with the murder.
He also said policemen have restored normalcy in the institution, adding that investigation will commence to unravel all those behind the gruesome murder of the late James.
“The information I got from the Divisional Police Officer, was that rival cult group clashed and one I cannot recall that name at the moment, was shot at a close range.
“The police rushed him to the hospital but he was confirmed dead by the medical doctor. The Policemen that responded was able to arrest one Africans Innocent”, Burswat said.
