The Area Commander Oyigbo Area Command, ACP Abdulkarim B. Nuhu has warned officers against corruption, Illegal bunkering activities and other acts capable of tarnishing the image of the Command, maintaining that erring officers will face the full weight of the law.
ACP Nuhu made this known as part of his inspection tour of Divisions under his Command, on 26/1/2022 at Elimgbu Division to lecture the officers and men of the Division, as well as interact with traditional rulers and stakeholders drawn from the Division.
The Area Commander thanked the traditional rulers and other distinguished leaders of opinion for finding time to attend the event and assured them that the Command under the watch of the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday will continue to work assiduously to sustain the peace enjoyed in the state.
He, however, solicited the support and cooperation of people, especially in information sharing, while warning officers to be professional in the discharge of their duties.
In his welcome speech the Divisional Police Officer, SP Nnamdi Omoni thanked the Area Commander and his team for the tour and consequently pledged the unalloyed commitment of the officers and men of the Division to uphold the tenets of democratic policing in line with the IGP’s Mission and Vision of the Force, while promising to involve all stakeholders in the fight against crime and criminality in the Division.
Earlier in their respective remarks, the traditional rulers of Atali, Elimgbu, Rumuokwurusi and Rumuewhara communities, including PCRC, CDC and youth leaders, thanked the Area Commander for the visit and promised to work in synergy with the new DPO to bring crime and criminality to a tolerable level.
High point of the event was the donation of #550,000 for the timing of the PCRC assisted Hall by highly spirited individuals.
In attendance were police officers from the Division and eminent personalities.
