The Rivers State Police Commissioner, CP Friday Eboka has assured police officers in the state that Inspector General of Police is reviewing a new salary structure as part of move to improve their welfare.
CP Eboka made this known during a lecture with senior officers and rank and files at Eleme Area command of the Division in order to calm some officers planning for strike due to poor salary structure.
He also hinted that the issues of multiple taxes are been deliberated on.
On the issue of pension, Eboka explained that the IGP is working tirelessly to fix their pension to 75 percent inside of 25 percent received after retirement.

CP Eboke also said the command has received 5 vehicles to boost the patrol of officers, and will soon take delivery of arms and ammunition to fight crime.
Correspondent reports that officers from Eleme, Oyigbo and Bori police divisions who were present assured that their officers will not go on strike.
Recall that the Rivers State Police command had paraded three women, Favour Ajuzoe, Chioma Chibuike and Comfort Abatuo for child trafficking of two children on 25th of September, 2020 at Rumumasi community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Parading the child traffickers at the police headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka said the rescue of the children and subsequent arrest of the three suspects was made possible after they reported to Elekahia and Octopus police division.
He added that the children were recovered from one of the suspects who bought them after two years.
