President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the release of the kidnapped students of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State.
President Buhari has applauded the security architecture of the nation and its intelligent prowess of combating crime.
“We are happy they have been released,” he said.
He also sympathized with the just released students and teachers, recounting what traumatic experience they must have gone through.
The President also decried the incessant multiple abductions going on in the country, saying this will deter the passion for education in the hearts of the young students and also put Nigeria’s reputation in jeopardy.
The President also reassured Nigerians of his commitment to beef up security in academic environments, in a bid to curb such occurrences again.
He promised to achieve this with following the standards laid down by the UN-backed Safe School Programme .
Also included in the statement released by his spokesman Mallam Garba Shehu, the President condemned the recent abduction of female students in Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara.
