The youth wing of the apex Igbo Socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has reacted to the controversy surrounding the presence of certain “Bishops” at the unveiling of the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kashim Shettima, in Abuja yesterday.
In a statement jointly endorsed by its National President, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, and National Secretary, Comrade Obinna Achionye, the Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide said it was shocked that certain persons could go that far in the name of politics.
The group also described the development as a show of shame and urged every well-meaning Nigerian to be concerned because such persons do not mean well for the country. It noted that they are troubled by that show of shame and worried over that level of desperation, noting that it is a warning sign, a wake-up call to all Nigerians.
Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide wondered why the same person, who could not find a competent Christian as his running mate, was able to find persons who paraded themselves as Bishops, noting that this is hypocrisy to the highest level and Nigerians should be watchful.
The group alleged that if the Tinubu Campaign team could go as far as hiring people from the streets and giving them bishopric attires just to claim acceptance by the Christian community and to make matters worse, the hirelings were seen sharing money openly at a popular hotel in Abuja, few minutes after the event, then anything else is possible.

It concluded that no level of gimmick would change the fact that the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, decided to toy with the unity and collective good of all segments of the country.
The Ohaneze youths queried if Christians are now important to the Tinubu campaign team.
Recall that the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, as well as the Catholic Church in Nigeria had described the Bishops as fake.
