The production capacity of the NYSC garment factory producing khaki for corps members has increased from 10000 to about 1500.
The factory manager, Mr Joshua Onifade disclosed this when the Anambra State coordinator of NYSC, Kehinde Aremu paid an inspection visit to the facility located at Mgbakwu in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He attributed the increase in production to the procurement of additional automatic sewing machines and recruitment of new tailors.
Aremu said he and his team have taken a lot of management decisions which included acquiring more automatic sewing machines and getting the service of additional tailors, which increased their production capacity of khaki to about 15000, reports the Nation.
He maintenaned that his team would not rest on its oars until they reach the desired production capacity.
Earlier, the NYSC state coordinator, who had expressed satisfaction with the level of transformation going on at the factory in the state, commended the factory manager for the proactive measures he took which has resulted in the increase in production output.
