Prof Ibe Emerges Candidate Of APGA Guber Primaries, States Readiness To Slug It Out With Other Candidates

The Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu, Prof Greg Ibe, has emerged as the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship candidate for the forth coming 2023 general elections,stating his readiness to slug it out with candidates from other parties.

Professor Greg Ibe who after a keenly contest between him and Sir Chikwe Udensi, Barr Etigwe Uwa and Major General Ijioma Nwokoro Ijioma, polled a total votes of two hundred and eighty three (283), to be declared the winner of Abia State APGA Governorship primaries held at the Kolping Society of Nigeria, Umuahia.

Declaring the Result of the contest, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Barr Echezona Etiaba, disclosed that 482 votes were casted, with professor Greg Ibe polling 283 votes, to defeat his closest rival Barr Etigwe Uwa SAN, who polled a total of 148 votes, while General Ijioma Nwokoro Ijioma, polled 36 votes, Sir Chikwe Udensi polled 12 votes and only 3 votes were recorded as void.

The Electoral Committee Chairman further commended the delegates for their peaceful disposition that contributed to the success of the primaries.

In his speech, Professor Greg Ibe thanked the God for his faithfulness, unbounding grace and unfailing mercy towards him.

He conveyed a special thanks to the organizers of the primary election for their diligence and hard work, which he attributed to the success of the exercise, while expressing gratefulness to the entire members of the National Working Committee of the party, ably led by the National Chairman, Ozonkwu Victor Oye, members of the State Working Committee under the leadership of Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, for the wisdom in assembling all Aspirants together to sign a peace accord, thereby, creating a level playing field for the Elections.

Prof Ibe who described the contest as a hot one with a list of political heavy weights, appreciated the aspirants, especially for their determination to change the narrative of Abia State through the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance ( APGA).

“In the actual sense you are all winners, as I make bold to declare today that there is No Victor No Vanquished”.

He promised to work with other contestants, to serve Abia better.

“I extend the hands of fellowship to you my brothers as fellow winners and co-laborers and implore you to join me in the task of salvaging Abia State, from imminent collapse.

“As we begin the final journey of redeeming Abia State, my doors remain open to receive and welcome those unique ideas that can help us realize the new Abia of our dream”, Greg Ibe stated.

The Academic guru, also appreciated the labors of his team members in Abia Crusaders Foundation, Great Abia Project Movement, the Gregory Ibe Campaign Organization throughout the 184 wards and 17 local government areas of Abia State, calling for all hands to be on deck to reposition and rewrite the story of Abia.
