Nollywood actor, Emmanuel Ehumadu have been lambasted by Nigerians on social media for disclosing intentions to raise the sum of 25 million for the burial and family welfare of the late Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu.
He called on those willing to support the cause to reach out to him for account details.
The actor who disclosed this in an Instagram post complained about the rumours and criticism arising due to this but affirmed that in spite of this, they are not relenting with the initial fundraising agenda.

While we the colleagues of late Ernest Asuzu are trying to raise funds for his burial, rumour already has this going on… Now iam taking upon myself to make sure we raise that 25million naira for his burial and family welfare… if you believe in this course, pls join me and let’s donate for his burial… if you want to donate, pls dm me for the account details. It would be recalled that the 36-year-old thespian died in January after battling a critical illness.
His wife, Jennifer Asuzu confirmed the news of his death to the media. His wife said the actor slumped one evening and never woke up.
Before his death, Ernest Asuzu sourced funds for his medical care by turning to roadside begging, which was followed by a tongue-lash on the Nollywood industry for not looking after their own.
Vanguard entertainment revealed that the late Ernest Asuzu, was abandoned by a lot of friends and family because they felt he was battling a spiritual problem.
According to the obituary announcement released by the deceased’s family, a service of songs will be held on Monday, April 12 for the actor and he will be buried on April 13.
