“None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.” – Mother Teresa

Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. Helen Keller

These quotes rightly explain the power of partnerships and collaborations.

When success is achieved, it should be celebrated so that it can give room to other progressive outcomes and as well inculcate some levels of hope in others who are aspiring success in various fields.

Goldcoast Developmental Foundation is a Bayelsa based non-profit organization with focus area of operation in Niger Delta region with regards to health, education empowerment, strategic youth development. Protection of the girl child and other vulnerable is also one of their core areas. They collaborate with partners to plan and implement key initiatives in line with the programme areas.

It was in this regard that a long term partnership was secured  with (FIDA) Bayelsa and Triax Solicitors both in Bayelsa state who are committed to working with Goldcoast Developmental Foundation to effectively reduce and prevent all forms of sexual violence, abuse and violation of the girl child in Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta region at large.

Goldcoast joined FIDA Bayelsa in taking up a sexual defilement case. The man who was identified as Priye Ojoko was arrested, tried and found guilty.

The High Court 9 of Bayelsa state, presided by Hon. justice T.Y Abassi gave the judgement on January 9th over a defilement matter of the State versus Preye Ojoko, and the judgment was given in favour of the state which to Goldcoast Developmental Foundation and FIDA was ground breaking and encouraging.

Recently, the two humanitarian groups celebrated its success stories in the fight for justice for the girl child and other vulnerable. It was also a platform for strengthening the partnership between the two groups.

This goes a long way to show that we all need one another for a greater achievement. No man is an Island. The holy scripture says “two are better than one” and another part says “one will chase a thousand, two will chase ten thousand”. There is strength and multiplicity in collaboration.

Goldcoast Developmental foundation is opened for partnerships and collaborations with individuals, groups, companies, government to render a better service to humanity. Do not forget that service to humanity is service to God.
