Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, on Wednesday May 12 lead a protest on the street of Lagos for the release of his colleague, Baba Ijesha over the alleged minor assault.
The actor had earlier requested the release of Baba Ijesha over his legal right for bail until his prosecution date is set.
Recall that, about 1,200 Nigerians on social media have signed a petition against the release of popular Yoruba actor, Olarewaju Omiyinka, who was arrested after allegedly defiling a minor.
The petition, which was drafted by the Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, on behalf of the teenager’s foster mother, Damilola Adekoya, a comedienne popularly known as Princess, has urged 1,500 Nigerians to sign against the release of the Yoruba actor, Baba Ijesha.
Yomi Fabiyi had shared a video on Instagram, where he was seen with his supporters who held placards while he justifies reasons for Ijesha’s release,
The protesters were seen carrying placards and banners with different inscriptions such as
‘Denial of bail for bailable offence is human rights violation’, ‘Nigeria police, please allow the law to dictate to you, not Iyabo Ojo, Princess and co’, ‘Release Baba Ijesa’, and ‘Nigeria police must respect human rights and honour bail for bailable offence’,
