The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka has reassured that the command will continue to discharge its duties of saving life and properties diligently.
CP Eboka made this known during and an award of Excellent conferred on the Divisional Police Officer of Nkpolu Police Division, Mile CSP Christiana Cyril by Port Harcourt finest (Bolt drivers) for saving the life of a Bolt driver, Clement Edet.
CP Eboka who was represented by SP Nnamdi Omoni said the award is a call for more work, noting that CSP Christiana Cyril is a distinguished Police officer and the command is not surprise at the award bestowed on her.
Conferring the award on her, the representative of the state Chairman Of Port Harcourt finest (e-daily drivers) Nwagwu Charles said the female DPO exhibited extra ordinary traits by going beyond the Police duty to pay for hospital bill of the survivor who was nearly strangled to dead at campus of Rivers State University to ensure the life was saved.
Nwagwu who said the DPO also ensured the vehicle snatched from their member was recovered, commended the female Police Officer and urged other officers to emulate CSP Christiana Cyril.
In her response, CSP Cyril Christiana said the award will spur her to do more. She dedicated the award to God, Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police in Rivers State.
CSP Cyril also commended men and officers under his jurisdiction for their efforts in combating crime.
Meanwhile the victim, Clement Edet told newsmen that God used CSP Christiana Cyril to keep him alive.
Edet recounted how he was strangled and left for death by two men who took him on a ‘drop’ to Rivers State University but the Female DPO took him to hospital, paid his bills and ensured the recovery of his vehicle after the Chief Security Officer of the institution, Ebere Chukwuma notified the DPO on the incident.
