He said the physical registration of online will begin after three weeks on 19 July 2021 for proper biometrics in the local and state offices of INEC.
Effanga said the 77 polling units have been relocated from various polling units in the state to another area, noting that if any petition arises on the new polling unit with strong evidence of change, the INEC headquarter would make effect to such petitions or complains.
He hinted that National Identification Number is not compulsory before registration of voters card, but noted that some form of identification would be needed.
INEC also said physical application will commence next month, July 19, 2021, adding that the exercise is expected to last for one year at both the INEC headquarters and at the different local government offices in the state.
“The continues voters registration is an opportunity for people who register to vote in one place are now intending to vote in another place to come so that we can do the transfer for them.
“It’s also an opportunity for people whose permanent voters cards have been ready but have not had the opportunity to pick them up.
“It’s also an opportunity for people who need to make any changes to their voter registration to do so.
“There are people who complained that there is a mistake maybe in the spellings of their names, or indication of their sex, their age, date of birth, anything they said is not correct, they can come to us for correction so that it can be effected in their data base.
“The online registration will make it easier for every one. It will also reduce the long queuing at the INEC office in the state.”
