St. Catharine’s Old Girls Association, Nkwerre, Imo State, SCOGA, United States of America Chapter has donated hygiene products to the students of the alma mater.
In an address at the ceremony where the items were donated, the President of SCOGA USA, Thessy Obialor Nwachukwu urged the students to maintain regular personal hygiene.
The president, SCOGA who was represented by Lady Chidinma Chimeziri, an alumnus of the school advised the students to also keep their environment clean to ward-off illnesses that could pose grave danger to their health.
Nwachukwu said; “Good personal hygiene chases away illnesses and helps one stay healthy. It promotes confidence and builds better self awareness; “let me tell you that you should learn to brush your teeth at least twice daily and never allow food particles on your teeth, you should keep your nails
neat, your armpit and pubic area should not be bushy”
“Bathing regularly is important you also should keep your environments tidy to avoid rodent and insect that can cause sicknesses”.
She equally advised the students to shun cultism and stay away from hard and dangerous drugs that could ruin their lives.
Nwachukwu further charged the students to remain focused and avoid distractions in any form even as she called on the state government and good spirited individuals not to come to the aid of the school.
She urged them to assist in renovating some of the dilapidated buildings in the school compound.
In her speech, the Principal of the school, Lady Chinyere Esther Okwunma showered praises on the association for its kind gesture.
Okwunma thanked the SCOGA USA representative for her organizational acumen and prayed God to bless all who contributed in making the donation a reality.
The Senior Prefect of the school, Miss Emeh Precious on behalf of other students pledged to adhere to the instructions given to them.
Miss Emeh prayed God to bless members of SCOGA USA a million fold.
High point of the event was the distribution of packs of sanitary pad, rolls of tissue paper, tooth paste, soap, and antiperspirant and cash by members of SCOGA.
