Gorgeous Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha, simply known as Rita Dominic, is an award-winning Nollywood actress. She is also a film producer, television personality, fashion model, influencer and philanthropist. The screen goddess, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Rita Dominic Productions, was born on July 12, 1975.

Dominic, the youngest of four children of a medical doctor father and a nursing officer mother, is from the Royal Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo State.

Dominic attended Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene in Akwa Ibom State, before proceeding to the University of Port Harcourt, where she graduated with a B.A. (Honours) Degree in Theatre Arts in 1999.
Dominic started performing as a child. She appeared in school plays and television shows then. She however burst into the big scene in 1998 when she appeared in her debut movie, “A Time to Kill”. Dominic has starred in over 100 Nollywood productions, including “White Waters”, which received 12
nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in 2008, winning four awards, including the awards for Best Cinematography and Best Sound track.

Dominic, who has been in Nollywood for more than 22 years, has acted alongside virtually all the great actors and actresses including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Mike Ezuruonye, Desmond Elliot, Segun Arinze, Tchidi Chikere and the Master, Olu Jacobs.

Some of the star actresses she starred with include Stella Damascus-Aboderin, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Stephanie Oketeke, Patience Ozokwor and the evergreen Joke Silva.
In the course of her illustrious and exciting career, she enjoyed several nominations out of which she won 14 awards. Some of the awards include the City People’s Outstanding Actress award in 2004; the Kenyan Kalasha Film Festival and Television Best Actress award (2012); the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards Best Actress in a Leading Role also in 2012.

Others include the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards Best Actress In a Supporting role (English film); 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards Best Actress in a lead role and the Nigeria Entertainment Awards Best Actress in a Lead Role also in 2013; the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for Best Actress In a Comedy as well as the Best Movie (Comedy). Dominic crowned it all with the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for Best Actress — Drama/TV Series.
The versatile Rita Dominic, who is a co-founder of Audrey Silver Company, is telecommunications giants, GLO Ambassador. The very industrious actress is considered to be one of the highest paid actresses in Nollywood.

While speaking about marriage in a TVC Television interview, Dominic had said “At the end of the day if I am going to do it (marriage), I’m going to do it for myself and not because the society wants me to”.

Continuing, the diva said, “I have always said I would marry the man of my dream, not the man society dreams for me. The society finds something wrong with you when you are of certain age and you are not married. But I think its the society that something is wrong with for wanting someone to do something on its own terms and not on the person’s own terms”.
Dominic announced her engagement to Daily Times publisher, 56-year-old Fidelis Anosike, who hails from Umeri in Anambra State, on April 5, 2022 and on April 19, she and her heartthrob, Anosike, had their traditional marriage in Imo State, Rita Dominic’s state of origin.
