A security analyst in Rivers State, Ede Wanogho has called on Rivers
Governor, Nyesom Wike to push the police, the DSS and the military to work together in fighting crime because everybody is at risk.
He also called on Wike to incorporate other security forces within his command to work with the state police command to curb these menace.
Wanogho, who made the call in an interview with our correspondent said the weakness of the security agencies in gathering intelligence is the reason the unknown gunmen are taking advantage to perpetrate crime in the state.
“It is lack of intelligence, now the issues playing out today against the country, is as a result of failure in intelligence”.
“The security agencies should do their work”.
He also called on all the security personnel in the state to be more pro-active in their intelligence gathering.
“If the bulk of the operatives are not doing routine operation and nobody is under gate cover to penetrate the IPOB, the Boko Haram, it invariably implies that you have failed. The government needs to redirect these agencies”
“For every strategic location you have, you must have somebody somewhere overseeing them”.
He went on to say that whoever is overseeing such strategic locations must be properly positioned that should anybody decide to go and hit on the policemen, the security network would have a proper, coordinated response.
