Security operatives in Bayelsa have arrested the vocal critic of the state government, John Idumange, who alleged that a N3 billion naira agricultural intervention loan given to the state by the Central Bank of Nigeria was embezzled.
The former general manager of Radio Bayelsa had stated that the loan, instead of being used for its original purpose, was used to pacify the governor’s political allies in the state.

He took to social media to lay several claims against the state forcing Governor Douye Diri to respond that every attempt to bring him against the immedate past administration of Seriake Dickson has failed.
Diri said: “We are not deterred by some armed chair critics. I am not here sitting to take credits. I give credit to the former government that started this Agric loan and here we followed it up because government is continuity.
“And any attempt by Mr. John Idumange to bring in my head in collusion with the previous government, you have failed.”
Niger Delta Connect gathered that Idumange was picked up by security officials in Yenagoa, the state capital, on Wednesday, March 10.
