From all indications, it is apparent that the confirmation of the recently nominated ex-service chiefs by the president has been greeted with tons of reactions from Nigerians, some of which have been positive, most of which have been negative.
However, some Nigerians have berated the act of the president, saying the nomination is coming at a time when some of the service chiefs should be answering some questions bothering on their role played in Nigeria’s security architecture during their time in office.
In a reaction to the confirmation of the ex-service chiefs by the Nigerian Senate today, former Senator from Kaduna State, Sen. Shehu Sani openly stated his dissatisfaction of their confirmation.
The names of recently confirmed service chiefs are former Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, the former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas and former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
In a statement released via his twitter handle, he mildly indicated that the ex-service chiefs got a rather easy pass in the floor of the red chambers today, saying this would not have been possible if this was in the 8th senate, a tenure he was a part of.
The Ex Service Chiefs would thank their God that it’s not Our 8th Senate.
