It’s easy to have a want or a need but expressing the want or need with clarity and simplicity to yourself and others is actually not easy.
According to Zig Ziglar an American author, “You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” — Zig Ziglar
To get what you want in every aspects of your life you must consciously and consistently do the following:
Research and think about it:
Ask yourself if what you desire is actually worth it? Do you desire to meet with someone or get another job, a promotion at work, a business deal?. Find out the motive for such desires and how it will be of help to you or business and others around you. Endeavour to engage in some research to know more about whatever it is that you need.
Ask specifically and effectively
Whatever it is you want, you have to be specific about it. Know what you want and ask with precision. “You must ask specifically of someone who has the resources — the knowledge, the capital, the sensitivity, or the business experience “– Tony Robins, Author. However difficult it is, just ask. Whether at work, home or with a friend. Even if it doesn’t come instantly, the good thing is that you have asked. Ask the right people who can help you. Check around your contacts at work, school or home. These people are there. You should also consider asking the right way. Sometimes, consider the environment. Is telephone conversation the best way to ask or would you rather ask face to face?
Do well to create value for the person you are asking. If you are not valuable to the person, company or sponsor, what you are asking for may never come. Figure out how to help them first. Offer them something that could be beneficial to both of you.
Build Good Relationships
Build relationships with people you see living out what you want to see in your own life. This is necessary as it is powerful enough to transform everything for you. “Anything you want — a better relationship, a better job, a smarter program for investing your money — is something some already does. The trick is to find those people and figure out what they do right.” Tony Robins
Work for it
Work for what you want to have. You cannot just sit at a place and expect to get a positive result. You have to go out there and sweat it out. It takes consistent hard work to get there. If you need promotion at your work place, then you should work extra hard. If you want to expand your business. You have to really work for it. Whatever it is, get moving and get it!
If it doesn’t come at that instant, keep working hard, keep asking and keep building good relationships. Keep changing your approach until you succeed.
Getting what you want is not always easy. Different challenges will come. People will discourage you, but you can choose to get what you want, believe in your abilities, trust the process, and it will happen for you swiftly and easily. Just wait for it!
