Oguchi, who was based in Hamburg Germany was shot dead on May 31, 2021 at the checkpoint of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri by an officer of the 211 Regiment of Nigerian Air Force.
He was driving to the airport accompanied by his wife, Ijeoma, two children and a cousin to catch a flight to Lagos on the fateful day.
He had been billed to leave Lagos in the night of same day for Hamburg Germany to enable him resume work on June 1.
According to his wife, Ijeoma, they were flagged down at the airport checkpoint by the Air Force officers manning the checkpoint.
The young widow disclosed that as soon as their vehicle screeched to a halt, one of officers released the lethal bullet shot on the forehead of her husband resulting in a deluge of blood oozing out of him.
Ijeoma further disclosed that the Air Force personnel on realizing the havoc one of them had caused, used their truck to move a profusely bleeding Oguchi first to their hospital located along Aba-Owerri Road, Owerri where a first aid was administered on him.
Ijeoma added that on seeing the magnitude of the injury inflicted on her husband was beyond the capacity of the medical personnel at the Air Force hospital, the officers moved her husband to the Federal Medical Centre FMC Owerri where he breathed his last.
Meanwhile, the late Oguchi’s 71-year-old mother, Helen Unachukwu had pronounced a curse on the trigger-happy Air Force personnel that killed her son.
According to Helen, the killer-officer has one year for karma to pay him back in same coin.
In an earlier interview, she insisted that nothing will stop her curse from coming to pass.
