Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has announced the sudden demise of the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Arzika Tureta, who passed on Sunday night.
Sokoto State commissioner for Agriculture, Arzika Turreta passed away on Sunday night at the age of 62.
Governor, Aminu Tambuwal announced the passing away of Tureta via a statement, which he personally signed and titled, ‘Transition Announcement and Burial’.
The statement reads in part:
“With submission to the will of Allah, on behalf of the government and good people of Sokoto State, I hereby announce the death of our Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Muhammad Arzika Tureta (1959-2021).
“The Tureta served variously as a commissioner in Sokoto State before his last appointment. He suffered an illness and died yesterday night.
“He is an agricultural entrepreneur, an administrator and a politician, he bagged a Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
“He was also a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly under the defunct National Republican Convention and member of the House of Representatives for Bodinga/Dange-Shuni/Tureta Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was the State Chairman of the PDP in Sokoto State”.
