Ten persons confirmed Dead in fresh Boko Haram attack in Borno

No fewer than ten persons have been confirmed dead in the Borno State capital, after a huge explosion of missiles on Tuesday evening suspected to have been carried out by ‘BOKO HARAM’ insurgents.

 

According to reports, the attack which came from Kaleri, the outskirt of Maiduguri started around 6pm and lasted for an hour. It was gathered that the insurgents were on a mission to infiltrate Maiduguri but were repelled around the Kaleri Area by Soldiers.

Sources said, some of the grenade landed on populated communities; Gwange , Adam kolo and that RPG shots also landed at children playground, nine of the dead were young boys hit by a bomb while playing football at Gwange ward.

Meanwhile, the Governor of the State Babagana Umara Zulum while confirming the attack, has expressed sadness over the tragic incident and sympathized with those affected.

The Governor however, visited some of the hospitals where the injured victims were receiving medical attention. During the visit, officials informed him that 10 persons were killed and 60 badly injured by rocket bombs.

His words, “We have been informed that about 10 persons were killed and 60 were injured. This is a new form of attack, totally different from the usual suicide bombing. It is worrisome and there is an urgent need to strategize to forestall further occurrence”. He also assured the people, that government would take proper care of them.

Boko Haram insurgents had killed more than 36,000 persons and at least displaced two million citizens from their residence in Northern Nigeria since it started in 2009.

    Lives have been lost again.These set of people called ‘Boko Haram’ awaits judgement.Only when they are the verge of losing their lives will they know the worth of life.Karma awaits them.May the souls of the deceased rest in perfect peace.
