This year’s valentine unlike the previous happened to be on a Sunday. This made the day unique as most churches observed the day in their services. For most Christians this day comes with a sober reflection on what love is, as programmes and events are marked just to add colours to it. One of the Uniqueness of this season witnessed, is the renewal of marriage Vows in Charismatic Renaissance International Church. The occasion which starts with renewal of marital vows, exchange of rings and couples dinner is usually done yearly.
The Senior Pastor of the church, Apostle David Wale Feso, in his message said marriage is an irrevocable commitment to an imperfect person. He therefore enjoined the congregation to love their spouses unconditionally.
Some of the couples interviewed shared their amazing love stories and how they were able to conquer despite all the odds faced.
For Mrs. Chinyere Ebiyaboh, she fell in love with her husband the first time she saw him. According to her, she met her Husband in 2001 through her friend and colleague who recommended her to the man.
The early part of their marriage was not all rosy as she had to nurse her husband who was sick for over 6 years. She showed him love and cared for him even when he didn’t have anything. Now the love birds feel like they just got married as her husband loves her more compared to the earlier part of their marriage.
For Mr. Michael Nyorere, the love story between he and his His wife started from being neighbours. They were friends and She saw him as an older brother whom she could confide in. Love happened and they took it to the next level by getting married.
Mr. Michael advised that renewal of marital vows should be practiced by every couple as it strengthens marriages.
Dr and Mrs.Guagha Micky Berezi, have been married for 28 years. According to her, it has not been all rosy but the love they share and the right messages they have been exposed to as couple, have shaped their lives and made them better lovers. Their love story started as teacher -student relationship. He was teaching in the school were she was a student.
After years of separation they got back together and got married.
Indeed, these couples have had their fair share and have also shown that true love endures, it cares for one another. True love is built over time. It takes two committed people to build.
As Apostle David Wale Feso said” Love indeed is the irrevocable Commitment to the well being of another and the disposition of goodwill to the undeserving”.
I do hope these stories would spur you to love more, to the extent of loving your undeserving spouse the more.
