Unknown gunmen have reportedly stormed a quarry site along Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road in Ibadan and abducted three workers in the vicinity.
It was gathered that the workers were attacked at about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 when the workers were coming out of the building.
Daily Post reported that a worker, simply identified as Tope Solomon was amongst those attacked but was however fortunate to have escaped from the abductors.
He subsequently reported the incident at Idi Ayunre police station at about 4:50 p.m.
Solomon gave the names of the victims as Ubong Jacob, Amisu Isaac and one Wasiu.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident, said efforts have been intensified to rescue the victims.
“Yes. They were abducted on Tuesday. Despite our efforts, these criminals are still going behind to kidnap people.
“The police is collaborating with local hunters to ensure the release of the victims.
“Efforts are on to arrest the suspects. We have intesified efforts,” he said.
The abduction of the three is coming a few weeks after gunmen stormed Binu quarry situated in Dalli village along the Ibadan/Ijebu-Ode Road and kidnapped some workers.
