News of the veteran actress Ada Ameh’s passing sent waves of sorrow rippling across the country. Since her only child passed away on October 20, 2020, the actress hadn’t felt quite like herself.

Uche Maduagwu, a colleague of hers, has criticized Nollywood actors for allegedly deserting her when she needed financial assistance.

He claimed that they had all passed her by while they were preoccupied boasting about their newest automobile purchases, but now that she was dead, they were posting and writing eulogies in her honour.

He wrote: “Nollywood actresses why? I am so SAD now and in TEARS after seeing all the poetry written on social media, especially by some popular actresses close to Aunty Ada, who IGNORED her when she came out on social media and needed help, these actresses never sent a KOBO,

…yet we’re all busy showing off expensive new #CARS and #Dollars constantly on social media, now Dem be the first to write poetry after the sad news, who do us like this for Nollywood?”
