Nigerian born, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has beefed of his preparations ahead of the biggest fight of his career on March 6. The fight will be interesting as he moves up to the 205-pound division to face the Light Heavyweight Champion, Jan Blachowicz. The venue of the game is at Apex in Las Vegas, USA.
According to Guardian, a member of Israel Adesanya’s camp said he isn’t taking anything for granted as he plans to go into a new weight division.
He said in a message to The Guardian;
“Israel Adesanya is preparing very well as usual in his home base Auckland”.Adesanya’s move to the 205-pound division to face Blachowicz, will be an extraordinary fight of champion versus champion.
‘The Last Style Bender,’ which is what Adesanya is fondly called, looks for a second mixed martial arts (MMA) diadem.
Back in December 2021 at UFC 253, the Middleweight Champion Adesanya defended his belt against Paulo Costa of Brazil and coincidentally that same day, Blachowicz Knocked Out Dominick Reyes to claim the vacant Light Heavyweight belt.
The UFC 259 main event will be streamed live on ESPN+ pay-per-view within the last hours of March 6. Blachowicz has a record of 27-8 MMA, and 10-5 UFC while Israel Adesanya has a record 20-0 MMA and 9-0 UFC.
A member of the New Zealand based Champion camp said, the Nigerian is full of optimism to win the fight and become a two-divison champion. Adesanya brought himself to the UFC world when he defeated Robert Whittaker in title unification fight at UFC 243. He has gone for 20 professional fights without defeat including 9 in a row in the Octagon. In one of the best fights of 2019, he won the first middleweight title fight against kelvin Gastelum using a unanimous decision victory system.
