Following the recent photos and video of a final year student from the University of Benin’s Department of Microbiology wearing a shirt that reads “Aggressive Malpractice brought me this far” during her signing out celebration, management of UNIBEN has begun investigating all of the lady’s results.

Following a meeting on Thursday, July 15, the University of Benin, Benin City (UNIBEN) management has begun investigating all of the lady’s results. The meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, July 13, according to a copy of the university memo obtained on Instagram by @instablog9ja.
Ufuoma’s pictures and video of her signing out day and after her final exams, where she wore a shirt with the inscription, recently went viral, and was reportedly asked to repeat her examinations from 200-level, according to an online article.
UNIBEN’s spokesperson, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, claimed the report was false and that the institution had not requested Ufuoma to rewrite her tests from the 200 level.
Ehanire said, “The report online is fake. The university is following due process; panels have been set up to investigate her claims and the panels are yet to submit their report to the management who will consider the report”.
The UNIBEN established a panel to investigate Ufuoma’s claim on July 13.
Prof. S.E. Omonigho, Head of Department, Microbiology, named Prof. I.O. Enabulele, also of the department, as the committee’s chairman in a letter signed by him.
The committee according to a memo sighted will investigate her involvement in any examination malpractice; investigate what transpired about the online publications; scrutinise all her results to date, including all exam scripts; scrutinise all marking schemes for all her courses; find out how true the inscription on her shirt is.
